International Journal of Pharma and Bio Sciences ISSR MARKERS ASSISTED STUDIES ON GENETIC DIVERSITY IN BRASSICA JUNCEA

چکیده
Genetic polymorphism was studied among thirty Indian mustard genotypes using 20 ISSR primers. This study revealed 156 amplified bands with an average of 7.8 bands per primer out of which 115 were polymorphic. Size of amplified fragments ranged from 100 bp to 1500 bp and number varied from 4 to 14. ISSR data were used to compute genetic similarities based on Jaccrad’s similarity coefficient, it ranged from 0.50 to 1.0. Similarity matrix was utilized to construct the UPGMA (unweighted pairgroup method with arithmetic average) dendrogram. In cluster analysis, based on similarity coefficient, Indian mustard genotypes were categorized into three major clusters Two dimensional and three dimensional analyses further strengthened the cluster analysis observations. Genotypes, Kranti and Rohini were found to be least diverse. BEC 144 was most diverse genotype with a separate cluster. Phenotypic variation was also analyzed and revealed some genetic relationship among genotypes which were evaluated for seed yield and other phenotypic traits. J. S. Study of genetic relationships is a prerequisite for plant breeding activities as well as for conservation of genetic resources. Since the hybrid canola have more yield than inbred lines, determine the genetic diversity of this have particular importance. In the present study, genetic diversity among 36 genotype of Brassica sp. were determined using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers...
متن کاملEfficiency of anchored and non-anchored ISSR markers to estimate genetic diversity among bread wheat cultivars
DNA markers are integrally connected to the success of molecular breeding and are fundamentally required by breeders to be able to, a. identify new gene sources in the available biodiversity, b. select parents in order to increase heterosis, c. decrease the number of backcross generations for gene introgression breeding programs, and d. carry out marker-assisted selection (MAS). The present re...
متن کاملGenetic diversity of dog rose (Rosa canina L.) using ISSR markers
Dog Rose is one of the most important species in Rosaceae family used as a medicinal plant and a rootstock for ornamental roses. This species is native to Iran, therefore, identification of indigenous genotypes of this species is important for genetic preservation or breeding purposes. Genetic diversity estimation of plant materials is one of the important pre-breeding activities in breeding cr...
متن کاملComparison of ISSR and AFLP markers in assessing genetic diversity among Nettle (Urtica dioica L.) populations.
Urtica dioica is an important medicinal plant which is widely distributed in Mazandaran province (North of Iran). In this study for the first time Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) and Inter-simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) markers were used for detection of genetic polymorphism in Mazandaran nettle. Ten AFLP primer combinations and seventeen ISSR markers were utilized. AFLP produced 830...

Study of genetic relationships is a prerequisite for plant breeding activities as well as for conservation of genetic resources. In the present study, genetic diversity among and within 15 Iranian native Ajowan(Carum copticum L.) populations were determined using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. Twelve selected primers produced 153 discernible bands, with 93 (60.78%) being ...
